Numerical investigation of the interaction between a converging shock wave and an offset cylindrical bubble containing different gases

A numerical study investigating the interaction process between a converging shock wave and gas bubble placed at an offset location is presented. As first step, for proofing reliability of used scheme, simulation relevant available experimental findings Hosseini Takayama [“Richtmyer–Meshkov instability induced by cylindrical loading gaseous inhomogeneities,” AIAA Paper No. 2000-2464, 2000] [“Study with interfaces in eccentric arrangement,” Japanese Symposium on Shock Waves, conducted; tested gases were helium (He) sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).
